| Amazing amount of snow after all the dry, warm weather. We were able to glissade all the way to the parking lot only stopping in a few short sections to to adjust our descent and stay on route. What a great day! | |

| Long, tough hike from the saddle, with my little eight-year-old son. In 95 degree heat, no less! We slept on the summit. I'll never return to this summit; if I did I'd sit down and cry my eyes out, thinking of that eight-year-old...who is now a big, tough high-school kid, who doesn't like to hike. --Steve | |

| The church I attend annual Men's Retreat is held in Wrightwood. Every year on the Saturday afternoon, I do a B/P summit day hike this year got 4 of the other guys to join for their first ascent of the peak. Lots of snow! Talked to 8 people doing the PCT (different groups). | |

| first time to Baden Powell,, beautiful day,, started at Vincent Gap..temp about 48 clear no wind.. first ones in parking lot aside from the snow movers/heavey equipment.. hiked with trekking poles had crampons,, hiked first few switch backs,, then went straight up,following snowshoe tracks, was post hole-ing about 10 inches on the bottem then got to about 18 to 20 inches ( or deeper) mid mtn,, decided to turn back after 2 1/2 hours as need to keep wife happy,, made it up 3/4s of the way,, ( total wild ass guess),, went down and played in ravine with crampons and self arrest with ice axe,, took photos ate big lunch drove home ,,next time would have brough my gators, (need to get a pair for wifey),,trekking poles were critical part of the hike overall pretty darn fun | |
