There isn't a lot of wildlife visible in the Kalmiopsis Wilderness, but this banana slug seemed to be enjoying him/herself. They are hermaphrodites. 6 October 2007

GREAT SLUG photo! I remember seeing MANY on the northwest side of Rainier. My grandmother HATED these slimy critters. I would be in the house, and she would be grabbing some SALT. BUMMER! The extreme bottom of the food chain! Even LOWER than MOOSE.
