Banana Yucca

A very common plant in Red Rocks, Nevada and a native of the Mojave Desert. Photographed on route into Juniper Canyon. April 2008. Banana Yucca (Yucca baccata) is a member of the Agave Family. Its large flowers appear in April and are pollinated by yucca moth.
