Base Brown from the northwest

Base Brown from the northwest

At 646m, Base Brown is not one of the higher fells in the Lake District. From this angle, it looks inviting, from the other side it's just a bump on a spur coming down from Green Gable (801m), and Great Gable (899m) lies only a little further back. I traversed the two Gables and many more fells yesterday, but passed on Base Brown, simply because it was a bit off route. 24 May 2012.
