West Virginia is amazingly beautiful. I did happen upon the only mountaintop removal operation I have ever seen. Horrible beyond description, one almost cannot realize the scope of the destruction. Why a state would allow a corporation to destroy an entire mountain and fill up whole watersheds with the poisonous debris is a mystery I will never decipher. (Yes, there's money and power...but I still can't figure out why it could be done--you have to see it to believe it's happening.)

Re: What state?Hm. Don't know what happened there, but I think I fixed it in edit. Thanks for the heads up!

Re: Re:Thanks! I only had time for one hike in the Preserve. We're heading back as soon as we can for more extensive hikes.

sighHow I miss the east. I have never been to West Virginia (except a car drive-through in the night).
