| Date approximate. My first and only experience of mountain biking. We cycled in the long approach to Ben Lui then made ascent on foot in wintery conditions - then cycled out. I couldn't sit down for a week! | ||

| asmrz | Our first summit climb in Scotland ![]() Date Climbed: Jan 28, 2010 | |
| Penelope May and I visited the Highlands in late January 2010 and climbed this wonderful peak via the East Ridge, more or less by route number 1 on the Ben Lui page of Via Glen Cononish route drawing (Scottish Grade I in winter). We had a good hard snow and some ice on the ridge and loved weaving in and out of the many small towers higher up. We did not use rope. Missed the easiest descent as we lost the view completely in a tremendous white-out on the summit. The route up was pretty straight forward, Pen used two ice tools, I only had an ice axe (wished for both tools) and the climbing was really good. Excellent route on a magnificent peak,we loved the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere just a few miles from the town of Tyndrum. | ||

| mountainmanjohn | Winter Classic ![]() | |
| I climbed Ben Lui twice, both from the sleeper train, and back to London. First time was classic winter conditions, just like the picture on profile. A great adventure, memorable days. I want to go back in the snow............ | ||

| mountainmanmark | Certainly a good day for testing the legs ![]() Date Climbed: Jun 20, 1996 | |
| Term had ended and so with my old Toyota loaded to the bump stops 5 headed to a farmhouse at the end of Loch Dochart. Our route which included Lui was the longest that trip. Tom na Croiche - Loier Gaothac - Carn Mhurich - Ben Lui - Beinn a' Chleibh - Sgaith Dubh - Ben Oss - Beinn Dubhehraig - Alt Loirre Dubhchraig - Tom na Croiche. A very good circular route. | ||

| Boydie | No wreckage, just 3 summits. ![]() Date Climbed: Aug 3, 2008 | |
| 2 years ago it was plane wreckage and no summit, this time around we summited the twin summits and added Beinn a'Chleibh as we traversed from Glen Lochy to Tyndrum. Excellent peak on a strange day of low cloud, mist and no wind. | ||
