Benchmark?

At first I thought I was going to see a benchmark on the summit of Pahvant Butte but when I got close, it turned out not to be a benchmark but rather a brass marker with no inscription at all. This was located in the center of the triangulation structure area. I don't understand the purpose but perhaps my friend in Lehi who put the triangulation structure up originally might have an answer. I'll try and find out. 5-14-10
