Forest Road 4130

Last year (2014), the Forest Service contracted to have FR4130 decommissioned. The result of this work is that the road is now much easier to walk. Unfortunately, it does have a bunch of 'tank traps', which makes it unsuitable for biking. The road is now completely brush free for three miles from FR41 (to N48 08.162 W121 42.577), which is basically where the route up Big Bear begins. If you have any interest in climbing Big Bear, the next 5-10 years would be a prime time to do so.
