First, here is the way to drive to the lookout spur road from Anetone:
Head west on Mill Road (paved) -> Veer left onto W. Mountain Road (great gravel) -> Which turns into Forest Road (good dirt)
We were able to drive our car from Anetone to the lookout spur road with no problems. The spur road was definitely rougher, so we stopped at its entrance (but probably could have driven a little further). Regardless, it only took me eight minutes to walk up the road from our parking spot to the lookout tower.
The bottom of the tower staircase is gated-off. About 2/3 of the way up the tower, several beams are broken-through. I noticed several other beams on the ground. I spoke to a ranger in advance who told me that there are currently no plans to tear down the tower but there is also no budget currently assigned to make the necessary repairs. So, basically, either they get the budget (which is unlikely) or the tower falls down, whichever comes first. No views from the ground, due to surrounding treecover. This completed my visits to existing/standing lookout towers in the SE WA region.
