Big Hatchet's summit finally comes into view
Upon gaining the south ridge, the summit of Big Hatchet Peak (elev. 8,356 ft.) comes into view for the first time in the route. Big Hatchet, located in the Boot Heel of New Mexico, has a prominence of 3,706 feet, placing in 8th on New Mexico's prominence list. Photo taken 2/23/08.
