Big Riner Basin and Kimport Ridge

This is why I suggest taking the Slide Mountain Route. Hiking in from the south will bring you directly up this dry and burned out basin, not nearly as scenic as the Strawberry and Slide Basins which have been largely untouched by forest fires. At upper center of image at 7612 feet is Kimport Ridge.
