It's definitely a bushwhack
I did the traverse from north to south (opposite the description on SP). The first part, from the saddle on the Cultus Creek Trail up to Peak 5568, had some pretty nasty undergrowth. There were bits and pieces of "trail" from time to time, but sometimes they led straight into thickets of mountain-ash and white rhododendron. Then there were a couple more brushy patches higher up toward the summit. But it was never alarmingly steep or exposed. Just be sure to wear long pants, and maybe even gaiters.
