I went up from the cul-de-sac on the west end of Stage Drive. You do cross the fence line but I didn't see any "no trespassing" signs - only a blank sign near the noticeably widened opening along the trail (that admittedly had been tagged with resentful graffiti and blown with buckshot). There were three other people on the trail and it appeared that many, many more have used it.
