Re: Arrowhead

It was made by a semi local guy I know who is a flintknapper. Its made from dacite. Im also into the primitive arts and skills and make my own all wooden bows. Thanks for the comment

Nice point.

My dad and I used to find points, drills, knives, scrapers, pottery shards, celts, etc. by the bucketload when I was a kid in Georgia.

Re: Nice point.

Thanks Bob. But this one was made by a semi local guy I know who is a flintknapper and made this one from a chunk of dacite. Im also into the primitive arts and skills, and I make my own all wooden bows from a tree to a bow. Thanks for the comment...Chris

Re: Nice point.

One of my older brothers became quite a talented flintknapper. He can copy just about any type of point or tool from any period. He's quite good at it. Only uses traditional stone and antler tools.

Re: Nice point.

That's cool about your bro. Im sure you've watched him bust rock. Its not easy either. Its amazing what our ancestors could do with aboriginal tools. So easy a caveman could do it my ass. Lol.

Re: Nice point.

Yeah, he can flake that stuff off and make it look easy.

One thing that he can do that I don't ever see anyone else do is make points out of quartz. I haven't watched him in action, but I have seen his handiwork. Looks just like the quartz points we used to find in our Indian relic hunting days. The only difference is that his are new instead of thousands of years old.
