| I started from the Blackrock Summit parking area, which is not really fair. But I made up for it by then going nearby Treyfoot, and then descending all the way down to the Paine Run trail and going all the way up back to Blackrock. My butt was well kicked. Saw a bear afterward. | |

| Spring was just starting. It was cold and windy at the summit, but the views were fantastic! The side trip to Trayfoot Mountain was worth it. | |

| Blackrock finished up a beautiful three day backcountry trip where we traversed Austin Mountain and climbed Furnace and Trayfoot Mountain as well. We watched a huge thunderstorm building while on the summit. The views were spectacular. | |
