Blossoms of Common Hawthorn
Each blossom of Common Hawthorn (Crataegus monogyna) has five white petals. These flowers appear from May to June and they have a slight fragrance. They can be used for medicinal purposes, especially for the treatment of high blood pressure. The fruits are dark red and oval. They ripen in autumn and are edible. In Poland, Common Hawthorn can be found in all mountain ranges at elevations up to 1180 meters and it can grow to be 8 meters in height.
