After driving a full day to reach Fields,OR and finding they had no vacancy at their motel, my girlfriend and I drove on down to Winnemucca and stayed at "Winners" where the rooms take 3 hours to reach 65 degrees with the heat on full blast ugh... The next morning with beautiful weather we drove a short distance out to Blue Mountain using Dennis Poulin's directions and did this as a mid day hike. Nice January weather, great views, good company, fun hike.
