Blue Ridge Mountains Cloudscape

Spectacular view along the AT/Blue Ridge Parkway. Imaged in June 2004 on the day my son and I exited the AT. If you have a few minutes, please read the story of the events that led up to the capture of this image. This is a panoramic crop of another image that I have here on SP. I'd be interested in knowing which you prefer. Personally, I prefer the other, but I have printed it poster-size and subtle shading in the foreground mountains and subtle color variation in the sky comes through nicely. A computer monitor doesn't do it justice.

other image. Nice work!

Remember as a young boy growing up in FLa. we vacationed along that road and I was totally fascinated since the highest things is Fla were the freeway overpasses.

When I went through USAF basic training in San Antonio there was a member of my patrol from Florida. I remember him looking out from our second story barracks window in the distance asking if that was a mountain he saw. It was, indeed, an freeway overpass! LOL. Thanks for looking and commenting!
