Bluff on east side of Round Lake
Taken facing NE from campsite on southwest side of Round Lake. Round Lake is at ~8000'. 7/15/7

fishing at this lake. The biggest fish are right neat this spot. Camped almost straight across from the lake where this pic was taken, in the trees above the beach. A nice picture of a fun place.

To tell the truth, I've caught some nice fish at almost every foot of the shoreline over the years. Round Lake has turned into the spot my son and I feel comfortable taking some of his "newbie" backpacker friends because of the fishing, swimming, scenery and ease of access from Carson Pass. It's just far enough to let a new backpacker know that they've "earned it" without burning them out and has some fantastic little excursion hikes to other destinations nearby.
