Looking down the beautiful "Boulder Chain of Lakes" from Lonesome Peak. The closest one is Lonesome Lake, second highest lake in Idaho at 10435'. August 29, 2007

Hasn't voted | You’ve almost got it. There are actually eight lakes visible. Five up high (Lonesome, Headwall, Scoop, Hummock, & Hourglass), and three more nestled tightly together farther down (Lodgepole, Sliderock, & Shelf). Four more can’t quite be seen (Hidden, Hatchet, Willow, & Waterdog), for a grand total of 12 named lakes in the Boulder Chain. Gotta love it! | | Posted Nov 7, 2007 1:46 am |
