The Racetrack Playa, Death Vally National Park, 4/07. The rocks fall from surrounding hillsides. After a rain, the clay surface of the dried up lakebed has a very low friction coeffient. When the wind blows, the rocks slowly move, creating a path...so I am told.

Hah! you are exactly right. hard to believe the wind is blowing rocks around. Who knows....Aliens? elves? mischievous hikers that are extremely light-footed?
