Breakfast on El Cap

Morning on the Continental Shelf. Route: Pacific Ocean Wall, El Capitan, Yosemite, California. I'm standing at the end of the ledge enjoying a cup of Corn Flakes and Soy Milk while my bro Gene Mayo prepares his little brown bag for use. "The Continental Shelf" is the name of the ledge situated at the top of a huge detached granite flake 10 pitches up. This was our third bivy on the wall and was pretty nice. Plenty of room for our three single portaledges and you could even climb down behind the ledge and it was safe to take your harness off. Definately one of my all time favorite bivy spots. Such an incredible place to be. The next night was fully hanging on an overhanging headwall and we were greeted by basejumpers in the morning.
