When I took the photo I realized that the view was not complete because Mt. Hood was hidden by the clouds. That would have been a great view I'm thinking. Nice page, Dean. -Bob

Indeed, it would have been a stunning shot. Of course, I was happy to find this one as the views I had of Buck Peak were mostly blocked by trees on the way up as this pic demonstrates. However, you can see the main summit rock if you look closely in this one. Thanks for the page comment. Want to do Eagle Creek to Buck Peak and back in a day sometime?

I think the mileage is about five miles short in your route description since the 5.5-mile signpost was southbound from Indian Springs, meaning that it is probably 2.5 miles farther each way. Now, I've hiked some long days in my life, but the objectives in those cases were a tad more significant than this one, and besides they were not repeats!
