Buck Seen On Mac Peak
A black-tailed deer (buck) on the upper eastern slopes of Mac Peak, in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness of Washington State.

While ascending to the summit, I unknowingly walked by this buck, which was asleep near a large rock slab. The buck got startled and ran/hopped away, but stopped just long enough for me to take this photo.

Photo taken on August 23, 2009.
