Bull Thistle after blooming

Bull Thistles have pretty purple to pink flowers. After the flowers have finished blooming, the fruits produce small seeds with fluffy material on them and form a pappus. This allows the seeds to be dispersed by the wind at great distances. The seeds are popular with many birds. The Low Beskid - Glade on the slopes of Mount Kopiec- August 26, 2007.
