Bura in Velebit channel

Bura is strongest wind in Europe and probably one of the strongest on the planet! After cold front passes or there is low pressure in the Adriatic Sea, cold continental air begins to 'spill' over the mountain and accelerates. It often reaches hurricane force. Gusts below Velebit can exceed 300km/h!

When this photo was taken Bura was strong. If it is stronger it is impossible to stay on such place as whole Velebit channel is in the spray, which can be dense as fog.
