Bushy Stanleya

Bushy Stanleya (Stanleya pinnata) grows in low plains and rangelands in much of the western half of the U.S. It doesn't extend west of the Sierra or Cascade Mountains however. Photo from the Owyhee of Idaho. May 2005

Aha!

I've wondered what the name of this flower was. I seen it while hiking in Arizona and Utah. Nice photo!

Re: Aha!

There are a few different species in the west that look like this, but there is a good chance this is the one you have been looking at.

Great flower

I've got some of these in my front yard. I love them. They bloom all summer long.

Re: Great flower

Cool. I'd like to have some, but I don't think they would do well in the climate up here.
