| Long day but very fun. Hardest part seemed to be the tram to the summit. | ||

| Did this route a few times...good work out. Enquire about snow conditions as it can be dangerouslty icy when you get close to the tram station...if it is the case bring crampons. | ||

| 1st attempt. Got an earlier than planned start due to a "wakeup" call from The Man. Sure was beatiful under the full moon! The hike from the Tram to the summit was a relative cakewalk. The bike ride back to the museum, however, was definitely 5th class..... | ||

| Penelope May and I hiked the Cactus to Clouds trail and continued on to Idyllwild via Welman's Divide on Thanksgiving Day 2007. Took us a super long day, 6am to 9pm, but we managed the 24 miles (just barely). A great trip!! | ||

| It was a long day, but we all made it to the top. Once I got up there I enjoyed a quick cat nap at the top. I tried it last August pretty unprepared, but this time I was ready and I nailed it. Great hike for those who enjoy testing themselves. | ||

| Always wanted to climb a desert peak from the floor. Fantasic views right from the start (started on Ramon road). I was impressed with the eco-diversity on this trail. | ||

| Started at the Museum at 4:30 am with a group from outdoorsclub.org (http://www.outdoorsclub.org/PastTrip/PastTripDetail.asp?id=10407) Made it the first 8000 ft to the Tram by 9:30 am, took a long break (too long), filled out a permit and started up to the summit. Hit snow at Round Valley, started getting tough, ran into a ranger who said I needed snow shoes (of course, I had none) but I continued on. The last mile was a slog, "post holeing" through the snow. Finally summited shortly after 2:00 pm, took a more direct route back to the tram and caught the tram down. What a hike! The hardest I have ever done. Next hike, Shorty Wells to Telegraph Peak in Death Valley, even more elevation gain! | ||

| Went from the Desert Museum to the top of the tram. About a 1/2 mile below the tram, I ran into Cy K. and he showed me the route at the point where you are most likely to stray off route. Then, took off from the tram towards the summit. However, after Long Valley we turned around because we did not have snowshoes and it was apparent from the snow cover that we would have been postholing the rest of the day if we continued to the summit. | ||
