Many foodies choose
to holiday on the Mornington Peninsula, as the region is known for its range of
culinary delights. If this is the kind of holiday you are interested in taking,
we recommend staying at the Cape Schanck Lighthouse – not only is the location
beautiful, accommodation in Flinders will put you in easy distance of some
delicious restaurants. We have outlined some of the more popular establishments
in Flinders to help you plan your stay.

1.  Baihmon ThaiThis
restaurant is open Thursday to Sunday from 4pm until 9pm. They offer both
eat-in and take-away dining options. Whilst they are a little on the pricey
side, their food is absolutely delicious and without fault. Some of the more
popular dishes include garlic pepper chicken, panang curry, graprow seafood and
spring rolls. Gluten free options are available.

2.  The Flinders HotelThe
local pub has two options for those with accommodation in Flinders – The Deck
(bar and bistro) or Terminus (the dining room). The Deck is open 7 days a week,
with lunch served from 12pm until 3pm and dinner from 5:30pm until 9pm. Terminus,
run by renown chef Pierre Khodja, is open for dinner Thursday to Saturday and
lunch on weekends.

3.  Pier ProvedoreThis
little café has quickly established a name for itself as providing some of the
best coffee on the Peninsula. They are open for breakfast and lunch with both
eat-in and take-away service available, perfect if you would rather eat in the

4.  Flinders Bakehouse CaféThis
little café, set on the site of the original bakery, is open for breakfast and
lunch 7 days a week. The open fireplace makes the space perfectly cosy during
the winter and is a favourite amongst the locals – this is always an indication
of great food and good service! Whilst meals are available, the range of cakes
and pastries is always worth a look.

5.  Mornington Peninsula ChocolatesThe
chocolaterie is open from 12noon until 5pm on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays,
then from 10am until 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays. The café is open from 10am
until 4:30pm from Thursday to Monday. This is the perfect location for those
with a sweet tooth – sample the chocolates over a delicious hot chocolate, or
buy a box to take home with you.

6.  Pony Express CaféThis
fantastic little café is open 7 days a week for delicious breakfasts and
lunches. They are also open for dinner (and much later) from Thursday until
Sunday. They might appear like a humble pizza restaurant on the outside, but
there is so much more to this little gem. The food is known for being tasty
(the pizzas are great) and the service exceptional.

If you are interested
in tasting all the delights that the Mornington Peninsula has to offer but
don’t want to be surrounded by tourists, we recommend accommodation in
Flinders. The Cape Schanck Lighthouse is the perfect destination, with

else in Victoria. Whether you are travelling with the family, your significant
other or a group of friends, you’re sure to enjoy yourself.
