| I hiked Carpenter with the Colorado Mountain Club. We took the Carpenter Peak Trail to the top, then looped back around on a forest service trail and the Elk Valley Trail on the return. There's a lot of snapped branches and downed trees, thanks to last week's snowstorm. | |

| Good workout - short hike - watch for lots of mud in the spring time... Boots recommended during spring for this reason. Watch out for all the people - you may want to go early or later to avoid the crowds. | |

| Great views on a heavily cloudy day. Saw plenty of wildlife including a small herd of mule deer on the trail. | |
