I'm not an expert on Californian lizards, but this girl looks nothing like a Leopard Lizard. Nice photo though.
I think this simply may be a female Side-Blotched lizard. Was is really small?

It was probably 5-6 inches long, they had a photo of one in the visitor center that looked just like it, but I'm certainly not a herp expert.
