I considered trying it back in July but was alone and decided to stick with the original itinerary I'd given my wife, who was back at home. But I've often wondered since what the peak is like. Did you approach from that saddle a little bit past Holly Lake? That was the way I was considering.

Woodring is an easy slog up a long hill with many loose rocks. We passed below Holly Lake and wound our way up the mountain through a few openings in the rocks, staying to the right of the snowfields. The top is gorgeous though with nice exposure and amazing views of Moran and Leigh Canyon.

Thanks-- I'll have to add that to my long list of things to do the next time I'm out there.
