One can see me on the center of the pic, I'm sleeping in the By-pass bivouac in Michele Gortani cave system, 720 m deep below entrance. The cave is located at Col delle Erbe, Canin plateau, Italian side.

What is the drop cloth for?

Bats flying overhead? or just little pebbles skittering down the walls? Neat picture, unique, 10/10

its for protecting us and our stuff from the dripping water. it can do nothing with pebbles since the shaft has a height of some 220 meters, so they gain quite high speed falling with a whistling noice before hitting the ground strongly, you are better not in their way ;)
