Chasm View at Black Canyon of the Gunnison

My son, Curtis, stands atop the south rim chasm viewpoint at Black Canyon of the Gunnison, CO. The other side of the canyon (most of the right side of the image) is 1100 feet away. The Gunnison River is 1820 feet below him. At this point in the canyon, the river rate of descent is at its greatest at 240-feet per mile. Imaged in August 2006.
