Overview

Cherokee Bluffs offers a sport climbing option in downtown Knoxville.
The 200 foot cliff rises directly out of the Tennesee River, offering great views. The limestone rock does is slick and steep. Routes are short. Approach is very short and easy. Most of the routes are on the upper wall which starts on a ledge in the middle of the face.

Getting There

129 South (Alcoa Highway)out of Knoxville toward the airport. After the Marine Reserve Center(on right),turn right on Monte lake Rd. Take first right on Craghead, you'll come to a fork, bear left. This will come to a deadend. Follow path on right, it takes about five minutes to get to first wall. The trail comes to an obvious 20 foot wide ledge with old carpet on it. The most dangerous crossings are protected by a cable.
