Chest Harness

This is a picture I took of a friend preparing to climb with a chest harness. She and her husband had learned to climb in Europe. They told me chest harnesses were more commonly used there and they had decided to use them when they climbed outside (versus the gym). As the purpose of the picture was to show the harness, I figure it belongs in this album.

Funny

I've done 2 alpine climbing courses in Europe and had to use this chest harness. But besides of the courses I've never ever seen anyone use one...

Really Funny

What was really funny was that my friends didn't quite remember how to tie into the harnesses, so they had to pull out their 'how to climb book' written in German.
