I'd like to capture Powell sometime since it is the only peak in the front range I haven't reached.

ah my bad. I meant the peaks extending between Flattop and Longs. I took out Flattop, Halletts, and Otis in one day. Taylor, McHenrys, Alice, Chiefs Head, Pagoda, and Longs on seperate occasions. Hope to grab Powell, Meeker by way of the Loft with Longs in combination, and then head towards the more obscure peaks in Wild Basin that are hard to reach. Indian Peaks and west side still have much to offer from our vacation spot.

I see! I was wondering why I had never heard of you before had you been that close to finishing the Front Range :-D

I have a trip report from 2004 online of my climb of Meeker, Longs & Pagoda that you might be interested in (http://www.ryananderin.org/13ers/08.07.04_meeker_longs_pagoda.html). We climbed Meeker's Iron Gates route, took the Clarks Arrow route up Longs, and then traversed over to Pagoda before returning via Sandbeach Lake. It was a buttkicker! I still want to go back and climb Meeker again by The Loft someday; that sounds like a great one! BTW, even though it's a detour from the Loft Route, I recommend traversing Meeker's summit ridge back and forth. That knife-edge is a hoot!

The thought of heading down to Pagoda from Longs has always interest me. My only concern is that cliff band you mentioned downclimbing. I would definitely be one opting to try and find a class 3 scramble due to the lack of gear. Did you see anything of the sort? How cool to have captured those three great peaks in one day. You really own it to yourself to take in the views of Longs and surrounding peaks from Glacier Gorge. It is my favorite area of the park. A particularly unique and secluded view of Longs can be seen from Shelf and Solitude Lake. We passed them in route up Thatchtop. Congrats on a great climb!
