Chilly winter lead on Serpent...

Chilly winter lead on Serpent Scales, 5.6. My hands were so cold that I stepped on my finger and didn't realize it until I saw blood and dangling flesh. 29 Dec 03

Re: Skin And Bones

Is that a fun route (when it isn't painful)?

Re: Skin And Bones

Extremely easy, might as well solo it for a whole 50'!

Re: Skin And Bones

Agreed. The patina plates make this route a fun solo climb. Deb, I thought Serpent Scales was left of this one? Correct me if I'm wrong....

Re: Skin And Bones

That would be Water Moccasin, 5.4 with the dead tree on the belay ledge. My memory is not totally shot yet, wait 'til this weekend!

Foot on Finger

Did the change of MOS contribute to your current level of dexterity?

Re: Foot on Finger

I don't do that cold weather stuff at my age...I don't think I could even lift my foot up high enough to step on my finger...Now I can tumble down a flight of stair or ladder well with the best of them!!! After my shoulder surgery and some rehab, you and your friends can chuckle at my pathetic self trying to climb...
