Chimney Tops

Despite all my trips up to the Chimney Tops, I have never made the scramble over to the far hump. We have always referred to this as the "Second Chimney" although I don't believe it is actually named. I didn't make it very far on this trip either. I was just testing the water! There is quite a bit of exposure on this little scramble and the park service frowns on making the attempt. There is a sign nearby warning of the large number of rescues that have had to be made, along with at least one documented fatality. Great Smoky Mountains National Park May 23, 2010
