In this list
highest lakes
it don't appears but the author wrote only a lake in Nepal and you can put it probably around the first 50 highest or so. | | Posted Dec 22, 2009 2:27 pm |

Voted 10/10 | Chola Tsho literally means 'lake - pass' lake | | Posted Dec 19, 2010 10:37 am |

Hasn't voted | I don't know, tsho is lake but cho is not lake, it's the same beggining of Cho Oyu and Cho La. Cho La is the col. The peak over the col is call Cholatse, because Tse is peak. La is pass and it's curious the use of pass as "Cho La Pass" in a lot of places and maps... if la=pass, cho la pass is "cho pass pass", he,he, in this case it's a double pass. | | Posted Dec 19, 2010 2:06 pm |

Voted 10/10 | Hola Rafa!
I can't decide. Here's the somewhat conflicting info I found:
- Cho Oyu means Turquoise God(dess) in Tibetan
- in Tibetan 'cho' is lake, 'la' is pass, and 'tse' is peak so Cholatse means literally "lake pass peak"
- Cho Oyo means “Turquoise lake”
- Oyu means "turquoise"
- Tibetan cho, "highest," "goddess," and gyu, "turquoise" | | Posted Dec 19, 2010 3:31 pm |
