Chu Kerti Dast West (5700m) was first climbed in 2006 by a German trio who ascended from the easier East (opposite) side. This face is unattempted and considerably more difficult towards the top due to the rock band.
Chu Kerti Dast West is directly north-east of
Shimshal Whitehorn and connects with Shimshal Whitehorn's East Ridge.
This photo shows Chu Kerti Dast West and Shimshal Whitehorn's position to one another above the Adver Glacier. Both peaks are located in the
Hispar Muztagh of the
Karakoram. The peak can be reached from
Shimshal in a difficult day's climb.
