Church of St. George, Varzo

Church of St. George, Varzo

The little town of Varzo (568 m, 2150 inhabitants), Valle Divedro, Lepontine Alps, Italy. The bell tower of the church of St. George. The impressive church was built around the year 1100, on an earlier Roman building, and later enlarged and remodeled in the years between 1300 and 1540. From Varzo starts the road that take you to the Alpe Veglia Natural Park. From the car parking of the village of San Domenico (1420 m) there is about one and a half hours hiking to the beatiful Alpe Veglia Natural Park (1750 m).

Tank you, Neophiteat.
You wrote in your presentation: "The peaks I have chosen are not technical but based on the beauty of the hike". This is a very good and sane principle to have!
Good luck with your project!

Re: Given it's Easter...

Thank you very much, that list has since grown and I have tacked on a few more years for my goals. Looking forwards to the snow melt so I can start. Only smaller local peaks so far. Great photo!
