| Summit number two of the day. Up and back down trip along Eagle Peak Trail. Ridgeline from the saddle was a bit difficult to follow at times plus the tree roots and brush didn't make it that easy. Great views from the top though and then descended down into the meadows on the west side. Way easier to go down than the ridgeline. Plus if you slipped you were ok unlike along certain ridgeline portions. | |

| Still tons of snow up there which made for some avalanche danger (there was already one recent slide) going up the last part to the saddle. From there, we went along the ridge for a little while, but the huge cornices and fog turned us around probably 100 feet from the summit. No views all day. | |

| Combined this one with a summit of Eagle Peak. Chutla was a far better scramble and the views were superior to Eagle in my opinion. Wahpenayo looked spectacular as did the other Tatoosh peaks. Great day hike. | |

| Good day hike up to the summit from Longmire. There's still a huge deal of snow throughout the basin and it feels a bit more like February out there in that regard. Good views of St. Helens and Adams from the top, with awesome glissading on the way down. | |

| Six OSATers did the Traverse in the late spring from The Castle to Eagle, summiting them all. We camped just south of Lane Peak, which is the most enjoyable of the scrambles. Chutla was the last of our eight summits that weekend, as is a real letdown as the last one - what an anti-climax! Next time I think I'll do the trip west-to-east! | |
