Well sometimes I have to get outside to collect some material for SP. Hope you didn't starve too badly :-)

Thanks for the vote!

You obviously are a kind of specialist of rare jewels, Dr Watson...! GrĂ¼ss Gott. :))

A jewell it is - especially as seen through Val di Roda (large pic) - but rare it is not, Sherlock. Think of the cable-car if you will.

Thanks for showering the page with stars.

Great!

"w/out cablecar, access would only be possible by hiking one of the four long valleys towards the high plain, which takes the better part of a whole day in each case" --not sure that's such a bad thing though!

Thanks Samantha! I forgot that climbing in Europe is quite different from climbing e.g. in the Sierra. Here you can do most climbs as day tours since the nearest village will be only two or three miles away. So you come to expect easy (short) access.

Yeah and you got an advantage over me - you speak some words of Italian.

Thanks for the vote David! The question has arisen on the Cima Brenta page if you are related to the Kienes who established routes there. Time to dig up your ancestor tree ....

That's doubtful. None of my family members have ever done anything that cool. :-)

But you could - a Kiene climbing the Kienes....
