Took the cable car to Rosetta. Went across the alpine plateau along route 709 to Rif Pradidali. Plenty of snow on the plateau. Ascend along VF Porton. A pretty funny route, though quite easy with all the ladders. Nice view from the top of Cima Roda. Descend along VF Nico Gusella. Part of the cables were hidden below the snow (still in July!!) which made for some rather exposed climbing. Return to Rosetta.

I took the cableway from S.Martino di Castrozza to Rifugio Rosetta then the path n°702 to Passo di Ball. Then climbed the ferrata Nico Gusella to Forcella Stephen and then the path to the top of Cima di Val di Roda ( fantastic panorama ). Then went towards El Portòn ( great views to Sass Maòr and Cima della Madonna, and what a misterious place... ). A Bad storm was coming and I didn't know exactly what to do ( going back to S.Martino or stopping in the Rifugio al Velo ). I decided to take the ferrata della Vecia ( which it's not in a very good shape, but I liked it ) and coming back to S.Martino. Then it began raining but the risky part was over and I enjoyed very much that 9 hours trip inside the heart of the Pale.

We climbed Cima di Val di Roda on a great traverse through the southern Pala - starting from Rosetta hut to Ball pass and then climbing Cima di Val di Roda. Then along ferrata del Velo to rifugio Velo della Madonna, and finally ferrata Dino Buzatti crossing Cimerlo summit with a long descent to our car in Vaö Pradidali at Cant del Gal.
