Cinnamon Fern (Osmunda cinnamomea)

Cinnamon Fern (Osmunda cinnamomea)

Cinnamon fern is common in bogs, swamps and stream banks in wet acid soils in much of eastern Canada and the U.S. It gets its name from the cinnamon colored reproductive fronds sticking up from the center of the plant. Photo taken on the Allegheny National Forest of PA. July 2001
