Another Option
Another descent option is to go around Trailmaster (Peak 12336) to the east to the shoulder between Trailmaster and Peak 11605 and descend from there to a meadow, continuing cross-country to the southeast, eventually joining the Cottonwood Pass trail. That is the way I prefer.
Thanks for posting this route. The night before hiking Cirque Peak I read your route. I doubt it I'd take it on my way down since I thought I'd loop it by decenting via OAP. But when on Cirque Peak, I felt adventurous (it was also only 9:30); I remembered your route, I pulled out my map and decided to go for it. I also tagged the three peaks from Cirque to Chicken Spring Lake.
