Climbing the West Buttress

Photo taken along the ridge from 16K-17K on the West Buttress of Denali, May 30, 2008. Many climbers ascend the ridge unroped, though it can be dangerous in high winds and/or carrying a heavy pack. A Canadian climber, who I met, slid 2000ft off this ridge during our expedition and was lucky to survive.
