Closeup of Glocknerwand

Closeup of Glocknerwand

Closeup of Glocknerwand from the north-side. Picture taken from the Fuscherkar-notch (2.840 m) during the ascent to Fuscherkarkopf (3.331 m). To the left you can see Glocknerhorn (3.680 m) and Teufelshorn (3.677 m). Slightly left of the center is the lower Glockner notch (the lowest notch on the whole picture), dividing Grossglockner and Glocknerwand. To the right all the towers of the Glocknerwand are visible (from left to right): - Hoertnagelturm (3.719 m) - Peterkaturm (3.715 m) - Weitzenboeckturm (3.710 m) - Draschturm (3.716 m) - Gerinturm (3.718 m) - Poeschlturm (3.721 m) - Hofmannspitze (NW-summit, 3.711 m) FYI: "Turm" means "tower". To make it easier to "navigate": the deepest notch you can see on the Glocknerwand summit-ridge is between Draschturm and Gerinturm. - Click to enlarge - 5th of August 2007 by Herbert
