Triple Direct
4 summits in 4 straight days. Ian (St. George Ian) and I warmed up on Waterfall Dome and then summited Cochise Dome (Triple Direct and You Bet Your Life), End Pinnacle (Welcome to the Machine), Chay Desa Tsay (Wind Madness) and Rockfellow (Labyrinth), encapsulating one of my finer trips in the Stronghold at 58 yrs of age. Triple Direct is mostly all slab and face climbing, but more enjoyable than What's My Line at least. The 1st pitch was a sporty lead (crux). The 2nd pitch was long on chicken heads with good 5.8 movement. The 4th pitch was your typical 5.9+ pitch (more challenging than many 5.10- pitches in the park). Combining Triple with You Bet Your Life, makes for a great efficient day of climbing on Cochise Dome.
